"This should brighten everyone's day."
That's the tagline on the invitations Apple has sent out for a special event to be held
September 10. And while it doesn't say what for, the invitation is perhaps a reference
to the reports Apple will unveil its next generation iPhone in gold, as well as other
colors. (Via CNET, Business Insider)
As a source told All Things D: "Think champagne, not ingot."

reported, we could see multiple new devices out from Apple at its event — both a high
and new-end iPhone.
As for what else to expect, after months of speculation, AppleInsider reports "a fingerprint
sensor ... a 31 percnt faster 'A7' chip ... 128 gigabytes of storage."
And in what Apple's referred to as its "biggest change yet" — the event will be a prime
opportunity

But if you're still not convinced that Apple's latest iPhone is on its way, here's some hard
evidence.
Apple store employees have reportedly been told they can't take off work between September
15 and 28 — could that be when the new devices will hit store shelves? (Via The Telegraph)
We don't have too much longer to find out. The event will kick off at Apple's headquarters
in Cupertino, Calif. at 10 a.m. Pacific time September 10.
