Our guiding thread - Webseries #1
[Elodie] It's already June, and in just 4 months, the 1st TEDx of La Rochelle will take place.
We are currently casting our speakers who will be on stage on October 5th.
So far, 100 people have applied on our Website
to submit their speech or ideas.
Our team is currently contacting them to determine their motivation
and the topic they want to discuss at TEDxLaRochelle.
[Phone candidate] It's true it was complicated
but that's fine, I had to work very hard.
I plunged into this thinking, "OK now let's go!",
You don't imagine how hard it was for me.
[Sandrine] Yes, of course!
Well, thank you for your application.
It was nice getting to know you better today.
We'll be in touch with you very soon.
[Phone candidate] That's very nice, thank you!
[Commentator] How much time do you spend with each applicant?
[Sandrine] We try to keep it short, about half an hour.
They are very motivated, it's really pleasant!
We seem to have a lot of different topics. Of course, we'll have to confirm that at the selection.
[Commentator] The selection step is yet to come?
How will you proceed?
[Sandrine] We have an evaluation grid
covering the topic, the respect of TED's spirit,
the motivation, and our coaching possibilities.
[Elodie] Our volunteer team has a lot to do with another pool: communication.
And at TED, communication has to be on the Internet.
[Fred] Elodie, how many people are working for the communication pool?
8 people, yes, that's it.
At this stage, we mainly focus on our volunteers
because they are essential. Without them, there would be no event.
We have a group of 30 people
who have been giving their time for the past few months.
There is a kind of spirit inspired by the event.
And that's the image we'd like to give at TEDxLaRochelle:
smiling, sharing... sharing intelligence...
And that is what we want to transpose on the Website, on Facebook,
through videos, Web series...
- That's very nice, thank you!
- Thank you, good bye!
- Have a nice day, good bye!
To be continued...
