Hi, I'm Christopher Stanton from element14 and I'm here to talk to you about the
Wolfson Audio Card by Wolfson Microelectronics
available exclusively from element14
I have one of the boards here, and
it has a menagerie of inputs and outputs on it,
it has a 5volt in, so you can
power it from that or the raspberry pi
it has input and output for S/PDIF, we have a
headphone jack with microphone and
line in and line out, you can connect that to
another audio device for example, we've also got some headers on the board
so there's some unpopulated and you can connect them to a set of
speakers, the others you can read about in the datasheet
we also have stereo left and right
for microphone recording and underneath
we have a set of pogo pins and
the block for connecting to the GPIO and it connects
pretty easily once you've got your raspberry pi
just slot it there and it fits rather snugly
so once you've got it connected and set up
and you've got your SD Card running Raspbian with
the drivers installed you can use the
WM 5102 audio codec
with Voice digital signal processor
to playback music, record music
mix music or any other audio, you can use it for voice chat
so it's got (up to) 24-bit resolution and
sample rates of 4Khz up to
192Khz, if you want to know more
