Hi, I'm Kerri at Zebra in Berkeley, and I'm here to tell you the pros and cons of nose
piercings. The pros of a nose piercing is that it's become a lot more socially acceptable
in our day. A lot of times, you'll see your doctor or your nurse, your school teacher
or even your lawyer sporting a nose piercing these days. It's a good choice for someone
who doesn't want to make a deep commitment into the piercing world, but still likes the
look of a piercing. I've had customers get nose piercings from the early age of 12 all
the way up to 80, so it's something that everybody can wear and get away with. The cons of a
nose piercing is that it's very difficult to heal. Your nose is cartilage, and cartilage
has a lot harder time healing than regular tissue. Sometimes this results in the formation
of a keloid or overgrowth of scar tissue. We see this a lot more in nose piercings than
most other piercings. So aftercare is not only essential, but a must, in order to make
sure that your nose piercing heals properly and continues to be pretty.
