Within ProTools you also have a midi input filter. The midi input filter basically allows
you to filter certain information from being recorded and not being recorded. So to open
up the midi filter, we're going to go into our midi tab and open up the input filter.
Once you open up the input filter, you can see different things that you can effect as
far as what things you can record, like notes, pitch bends, after touches and program changes
as well as controllers. You can do different things, you can assign different controllers
to input filter and choose to ignore the data or to record the data. This is very helpful
as far as like if you have different sustain issues or different notes that you don't want
to play like. There's a lot of things that may not be important for when your recording.
So when you have this input filter, it's definitely going to help you get rid of all those things
so you don't have to worry about them and just record the more important things. As
far as like if you have velocity in the notes. Just certain things you might want to do and
you might want to change velocity after, might want to change certain things after. You might
want a certain feel so this is a very good way of achieving that.
