Capture One Pro 7 has some great tools for creating quality black and white conversion.
To load up all the tools that are useful for black and white conversion,
simply add the black and white tool tab by right clicking on the tool bar.
It makes sense to start with a good colour image so correcting any exposure issues is a good idea.
Experiment with some of the predefined presets in the black and white tool.
Hovering the mouse over any preset gives an instant preview of how it will look.
These could be used as a good start point to continue from.
The Enable black and white check box is now ticked and the image
is converted to black and white.
Also, in the black and white tool is the Split tones tab.
Again there are several presets to choose from. Try one as a start point.
Set the hue and saturation for the highlights and shadows respectively.
To add a little more contrast to the image, use the other tools in the black and white tool tab
like the curve and clarity tools.
Finally, use the vignetting tool to add some creative vignetting to the image.
