Hi everyone, I am Alexandros Rassouli
I am a political refugee from Iran
and I am here in Cyprus since 1995
I live in Cyprus the past 17 years
I followed my family after their decision
to become Christians, to come to Cyprus, as in my country it is a bit tragic how they deal with
Christians, and for this reason I followed my family
and I live here hoping for a better future
and we have chosen Cyprus for the freedom we are given
to speak out our opinion and to express our feelings
something that was not allowed by our government in our country
Living here in Cyprus, I have learned a lot and made some new friendships
and I feel Cyprus is my home as I have lived here for the past 17 years as I have told you before
I am here since I was 1 year old, and every day I try to improve my life as a political refugee
and I appreciate what the country is providing me as a political refugee
I have learned ways of expression and cultures of the Cypriots, and I always try to offer something back to Cyprus
as a Political refugee that I am
and I know that both the good and the bad stuff teach me something in my life
In Cyprus I face a few challenges as a political refugee
in my everyday life I see the difficulties
with Cypriot citizens, in their treatment towards me
and generally in the way they react
and I try to understand that and I try to show that myself, as a Political refugee,
I can too offer new cultures, new ideas, even new business in Cyprus
the message I would like to send as a political refugee is that
all countries should respect their political refugees and provide them with equal rights
just like any the of their citizen
