Hello and welcome to this Tips and Tricks video for ZoomText 10.
In today’s video we’re going to show you how you can create your own custom Pointer
scheme in ZoomText.
There are a number of present Pointer schemes available in ZoomText that many people find
very helpful, such as the yellow with full cross and the Giant green schemes.
But maybe none of these schemes are to your liking, and you want to make your own. Luckily,
you can do this very easily in ZoomText!
Click on the Pointer icon and choose “Settings.” Choose the Custom radio button. Automatically
the scheme will change to the Yellow with full cross.
Under the Pointer heading, we can choose our pointer size and color.
Let's choose Extra Large for the size, and Blue for the color.
Now we can customize our locator under the Pointer Locator heading. This makes the mouse
pointer even easier to find.
For the type, lets choose “Sonar”, make its color Green, and set its Thickness to
Thick.
The slide bar underneath lets you control the transparency of the locator.
Lastly, we can choose when we want the locator to be displayed. The default setting is “Always”
but you can choose to just have it show up when the pointer is stationary, moving, or
when you press a modifier key.
Let’s choose “When a modifier key is pressed”.
Now you’ll see the Modifier Keys checkboxes light up, with CTRL being checked by default.
For this demo lets keep that. Now whenever I press the CTRL key, the green sonar will
appear.
When you’re finished, simply click the Ok button and your custom scheme is displayed
on screen. This will show up whenever you choose the “Custom” option under the Pointer
icon. If you want this new pointer scheme to show up every time you start ZoomText,
go to the File menu and choose “Save As Default.
