Here where the flowers have a pleasant aroma
Where everyone cleans the roofs
Where the young green trees aren’t cut down
nowhere else, but in my country
Oh my country, my rich country
With flowers and trees that I keep in my mind
I love you very much my Kosova and this is why I am here
Buka, represents the documentary
Let’s do it Kosova
Supported by Kosovo Protection Agency
HOW DO YOU FIND THE ENVIRONMENT IN KOSOVA?
Very bad! Not to say catastrophic
The environment in Kosova... Unfortunately, it is difficult to think positively about the current state of the environment.
Regardless of the efforts in legislation and infrastructure, environmental policy and institutional engagements, the state again remains quite bad and disappointing.
There is a lot of work to be done.
No, really, I could never understand how all these writers knew to worship this country! Hey! To write poems, lines to the nature, trees , botanic, clean air.
and we in this direction, nowhere!
Look at that garbage over there, the trash can 2 meters away
I don't get it at all!
The environment is very degraded, it’s full of waste, wherever we go , we live with them
and the worst is that we are used to that.
WOULD YOU JOIN THE ACTION TO CLEAN UP KOSOVA?
Of course, Yes, I would.
I am ready, but I can’t dare to guarantee for each person because it’s an individual decision. It’s an issue of culture.
Certainly! I am going to be just one of the over 50 thousand people who will clean Kosova
Yes, I would be ready. This is a moral obligation of each person.
Yeah, I am more than ready to be part of a great project such as:”Let’s do it Kosova” because I think that this place needs to be cleaned of many things, but initially from the garbage and pollution of the environment. YES, I am ready.
Yes, I believe so . It would be a great idea if all the citizens would go out and clean Kosova
We have to stop for a moment and ask ourselves.: After we eat at home, do we leave the table set as it is? NO.
When we eat a chocolate do we leave the paper of it in our room? No, we don’t
Why? Because our child is there, stays there. Hey! The environment, the nature is like a child, it has to be treated tenderly and wise.
For example, when we go to Switzerland, you know how we say: ”Oh, how beautiful, how clean, everything in order."
Hey! Our Switzerland is our Kosova. And Kosova is beautiful as well and we just need to maintain it.
HAVE YOU SEEN ANYONE THROWING LITTER ON THE STREETS?
Yes, I have.
It happened, I’ve seen it in the traffic. People throwing garbage from cars in front.
So many times. A person collects the tires in the yard it puts them on fire and he says: ”It’s in my yard.”
Or, a person fills a trailer full of garbage and they empty it nearby the road. And when you say: “Mister, that’s not the place”, he replies: “Mind your business”
Yes, very often! Unfortunately, this happens very often in Kosova.
It happened to me, when I was walking down the street, somebody from the 8th floor threw a bag full of garbage outside, in the inappropriate place.
I can say dozens of times! There were cases when I saw people throwing big plastic bags full of garbage and I felt very bad, bad indeed, because I pass there everyday. Of course, it’s a not a good feeling.
As every other citizen, I have also seen the garbage on the road and everywhere else.
Yes, it happened to me to see it.
HOW DID YOU REACT?
I wouldnt like to say it.
It is a dissapointing for us when we witness this kind of education.
If that person is fined, i wouldn't like more than that!
It's a phenomenon, it's very cruel, very bad, very irritating and unfortunately it still continues.
in majority of cases I have reacted by yelling and by giving them advice if they were younger, if they were older I simply felt bad when I saw this act.
It happened and I said: "It's not the place here, it's a street and it's a pond and got a reply: "Mind your bussiness."
Normally, not good. I felt bad and with a gesture I have tried to make them understand it's not a good, action that the one did. What to say to them?!
It doesn't go in this way, NO! Kosova is our place, only ours. Mine, yours, his... if we don't perserve who do you think will come and remove the garbage?!
Our neighbour countries? Those westerns? Our international friends? No, no, no.. ! You! You have to remove the garbage because you threw it. You shouldn't have thrown it at the first place.
You eat a banana and you throw it in the trash can. And they say there aren't any cans. There are cans but you have to use them.
At last, put it in your pocket and keep ti 'till you come to the trash can and throw it! That's it!
HAVE YOU, PERSONALLY, EVER THROWN A LITTER ON THE ROAD?
Without conscience...there are chances.
I don't remember, but if it has happened I have regreted immediatly. I wouldn't repeat it.
In the trash can, Yes.
Without conscience, maybe, but conscienciensly no!
In the forbidden places, no!
Everyone have thrown!
WHAT'S YOUR MESSAGE?
Let's protect our environment because its our health, it's the health of our children and the health of our future
As the minister of this field, I hope that it is the last time it's needed to go out and join this action... and I hope that this is going to serve for awarness of the citizens and institutions to prevent the destruction and pollution of Kosovo environment.
Let's live in Kosova which is cleaner, better, and let's live in a more responsible society.
Everything we do today will remain to future generations. We don't have the right... We have the right to live well but we don't have rights to leave them a polluted environment. We don't have that right.
I call all the citizens of Kosova to go out and clean Kosova, for a better future!
On 24 May, at the place! Let's Do it Kosova!
