First, Allah created the Angels and the Ruh from light.
Then from fire he created the Jinn.
Then he created Adam from clay and blew into him the Ruh (spirit).
Now Adam was created
It was announced that succession on the earth will be by Adam and his progeny.
This became polemical/controversial
A little inquisitiveness came from the Angels too...
It is present in the Quran (Suratul Baqarah fourth Ruku)
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?"
The Angels said Oh Allah, the being you are giving succession of the Earth will cause mischief and shed blood. We are constantly praising and glorifying you.
Whatever you wish we obey. So what is the need?
To this Allah answered: "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
Only I know what is in my wisdom and will.
It is not necessary that you understand or share it.
Nevertheless, there was from amongst the jinn a jinn named azaazeel.
Now look, the Jinn have a special closeness to the Angels. Why?
They were created from Light and these were created from fire. How much closeness between the two?
Man was created from clay or mud
Fire is very energetic. It is aggressive. It has alot of energy in there.
Light and fire are very similar to each other.
And in the Arabic language the root letters are the same. Just that the middle letter replaces each other.
They have similarities yet they are worlds apart.
The Angel has been created from light he is completely pure.
It cannot go against the desire or will of Allah.
"they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded."
They are in constant obedience to the creator, and they do not disobey him.
They were a little inquisitive, and they asked Allah (about the succession of Adam)
They got their answer and they became silent after that.
However, there was a jinn by the name of azaazeel, who was connected to the angels with its similarities.
Secondly, it was so high in its worship and ascetism that he became assembled with the Angels.
He rised in the disobedience of the creator.
When the order was given to prostrate to Adam...
Now look at the importance given to this, and you are probably thinking that this is the first time we are hearing this in such a way.
These things are never made aware to us.
what is the reason for it?
You are not interested in these things.
The modern times have made the importance of these things completely insignificant
The Quran has mentioned this seven times...
That we told the Angels to prostrate to Adam, and all of them immediately obeyed.
"So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely" (15:30)
Every single one, together and at once prostrated to Adam. The obeyed the command of Allah instantly.
Except for iblees
"...except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers." 2:34
He refused, and became arrogant.
And it has been clarified in Surah Kahf that it is because that he was actually from amongst the Jinn.
he was however present with the angels.
"He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord" (18:50)
He showed stubborness/arrogance.
This affair is so important, that it has been mentioned seven times...
Surah Baqarah, A'raaf, Hijr, Bani Israeel, Kahf, Ta-ha and Surah Saad.
The mention of which has been made in six Makki Surahs and one Madani surah- Surah Baqarah.
In most places then, when Allah said now that you have showed arrogance and have disobeyed the command of your Lord
Get out from here! You are reprobate and cursed.
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense. 15:35
You are now cursed until the day of Judgement.
iblees then said My Lord, then give me time
"[Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
Lengthen my life until Judgement Day...
So he was told Go! your request is accepted.
On which he said, Now My Lord, I will lead Adam astray and his progeny too. I will destroy them.
This is mentioned four or five times in an extremely chalenging tone.
I only mentioned it twice to you.
In Surah A'raf Allah says:
Iblees said My Lord you have lead me astray. You humiliated me.
You preferred him over me.
I am better than him.
You made me from fire and made him from clay
Then you expect me to prostrate to him?
And when I didnt prostrate you made me amongst the cursed.
[Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path." (7:16)
Now I will surely wait for them and never let them walk on the straight path.
"Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."(7:17)
This was the challenge.
And amongst the challenge as mentioned in Surah Saad
And here he has sworn by Allah's honour!
[Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all" (38:82)
Oh Allah, I swear by your might and honour that I will mislead all of them..
Except for your chosen slaves.
Except for those YOU choose and make from among your chosen slaves...
This is "Ism Maf'ool" and not "Ism Faa'il". The ones that YOU choose.
Some people Allah chooses. He has chosen you...
Only those will be saved, those that you choose and protect.
Apart from those I will mislead all of them.
This is the constant and perpetual enemy of mankind.
And note the root of this affair...
Two words... Pride/arrogance and jealousy
I am better than him.
This is the cardinal issue.
The biggest reason of going astray..
This is why it is said in a hadith
The person who has even a mustard seed of pride/arrogance will never enter Jannah.
Pride is the biggest crime.
Allah says Pride is my covering/cloth.
If somebody shows pride then it is like he is taking my covering/cloth from my shoulders.
When the Arabs wanted to humiliate someone, they used to remove the covering/cloth from his shoulders
Like they have unclothed him
Allah says Pride is my covering, and suits me best
And jealousy. Adam being elevated was burning iblees with jealousy
And he wants to prove a point. He lead Adam astray. Made Adam leave Jannah.
Adam had to leave Jannah anyway, but he did indeed make Adam disobedient to Allah.
Adam disobeyed his Lord and went astray.
However, it is different that Adam asked for forgiveness from Allah, and Allah forgave him. And he was forgiven.
The affair of disobedience is not permanent. It will not pass down to the progeny of Adam. It happened and now its in the past.
"Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful." {2:37}
And the beauty of repentance is such that when it is accepted by Allah then it is like the person has never commited that sin.
Nevertheless, he was successful in making Adam disobey his lord. Both Adam and Hawa (Alayhim salam)
And how many of Bani Adam have fallen into his trap?
How many are there of Allah's chosen slaves?
Who in reality have become the slaves of Allah. Or Allah has chosen for himself.
Now, with this note that Ibless has with him an army.
Which has been mentioned in the Quran as his party.
Which has been mentioned in the Quran as his party.
