I, Sasaki Asahi have been making many make up videos however
I have never actually touched on the topic of eye care
I'm terribly sorry about that
I truly am sorry from the bottom of my heart
Hello everyone, this is Asahi
Today, like I mentioned in the opening, I'd like to make a self-reflection video.. meaning
I've uploaded nearly 200 videos but I haven't uploaded many videos on skin care
I really like make up and colors but when it comes to skin care
I don't have much knowledge on it and my skin doesn't break out or anything and
I just used what I had at hand and I only started using this product recently but today
I did some research on Lancome's Genifique Eye Light-Pearl which is popular and famous but
when I was researching this product and eye care in general, I found out a lot new things that I never knew
So I hope it'll be helpful to you too!
So apparently, approximately 40% your faces' impression is determined by your eyes
and the area around your eyes is really thin and only 1/4 of the thickness of your cheeks!
so it is said to be one of the first places to show signs of ageing
Going in depth of why the area tends to show sign of ageing is 1,
There aren't many sebaceous glands compared to other parts and it's a difficult place to retain moisture
therefore, it tends to be a dry area and also shows wrinkles easily
the second reason is the lack of subcutaneous fat which is fatty tissue right under the skin
leading to saggy-ness around the eyes
the third reason is with age, the muscles around your eyes start to weaken so
your eyes can start to droop and look a little smaller
the fourth reason is by rubbing your eyes. Whether it's from removing make up or because of hay fever or any allergies
that makes you pull the skin and this can darken the area around your eyes and also leave dark spots
The last reason could be from the interruption of blood circulation. This can be caused by lack of sleep
and can create bags under your eyes
I think the skin around my eyes are a lot thinner compared to other people
I've had bags under my eyes ever since I was a little girl and it's actually been a complex of mine
so I've always been using concealer since primary school
You can also clearly see the veins on my upper eyelid
and it's so thin that if I pinch it I feel like blood might come out
Despite all that.. I'm kind of disappointed in myself for not taking better care of my eyes
after looking at my old videos, I've used glitter and just looks using full on makeup
but those are fine, because they're vibrant and I really love putting make up on
but it's about removing the make up isn't it.
I didn't know that by color could be transferred through friction
And because I didn't know that I was rubbing the glitter off my poor fragile eye lids
Also, when blending out the colors if you apply too much pressure or use a brush that doesn't suit you well,
I didn't do anything else but this area started to sink in a little
and when you eyes look a little sunken in, it can show signs of ageing clearly so I don't like it...
So now that I think back, I wish I had taken my makeup off properly so
now I'm trying ways to prevent this so please take your make up off gently too!
I showed you this product at the beginning and I'd like to apply it to my face now
This is something that I've been using everyday and it's a beauty essence designed specifically for your eyes
and I'm sure there are many types of beauty essences' however I think
it splits mainly into 2 with essence that you apply before toner and ones that you apply after toner
and the ones that you apply before toner prepares your skin to take in more of the goodness that you apply afterwards
and it can make all the products perform very effectively
So if you were to put it as an example of building a house
it is the foundation and base of the house
if the foundation is not sturdy, the house can collapse more easily
so I think the first product that you apply during your skin care routine is very important
the essences that you apply after toner are designed for certain problems
This light-pearl essence is to be applied before toner and it's specifically designed for your eye area
I think it's a very unique product and the applicator is really interesting
and it's a tear shaped silver ball type thing and it rotates by itself
so you can apply the product while massaging the area like so. It's really different isn't it
I think this Genifique line is very popular and this is for your eyes
So I've washed my face and I'm ready to apply the product
You can use this product in the morning and in the evening and it feels really nice applying it after taking a shower
It picks up quite a bit of product so take off the excess like you would do with nail polish
and using the main part of the tear drop, just apply it like so
apply it under your eyes and also to your top lids
it feels really nice because the tip rotates and massaging this spot right here. it's awesome
also when you smile, the ends of your eyes tend to wrinkle up so I apply it here too
and circling around the eyes also feels relaxing
I think there's enough product for both eyes with the amount that we scooped up in the beginning
Just by doing this, my eyes feel significantly refreshed
So once it's applied, I use my fingers so my skin soaks up the product further
after this, I apply toner and then beauty essence if necessary and today
I'm using the eye serum from the Visionnaire line also from Lancome
the design of the product is very interesting and has a rubber tip and you just apply it to your skin
and I think it's good to take care around your eyes using products like this too
Well, to finish off I though I'd share this exercise for your eyes that I found on the internet
Your eyes are surrounded by the Orbicularis oculi muscle
and I drew that around my eyes in my muscle tutorial and it really exists around your eyes
and an exercise to work out this muscle is,
firstly make your fingers in scissors and place them right above your brows then
make your eyes bigger and look around. When you're not doing anything it creates wrinkles so
By holding down the skin, you prevent the wrinkles from forming and lift your brows up, down, up and down
By doing this, you're working out this muscle here and
because this whole area is connected, you're also working out your forehead so that you can slightly prevent wrinkles from forming
Apparently it's harder to workout the muscles under your eyes compared to the upper lid so they tend to sag easily
so when you want to work out your under eyes,
use your fingers so that your upper lids don't come down and imagine if you are
closing your eyes from your bottom lids, like this
it's actually kind of hard and then hold still
and by doing so, you're preventing your under eyes from sagging
and that's something that I just started recently, so please give it a go too!
I'm sorry that it was a long video but thank you for watching till the end
See you in my next video
Bye~!
