On a recent trip to the YouTube Space in Los Angeles, I had the chance to meet the guys
from California Strength.
[drum music]
[groaning]
They were there shooting video, and getting in a little light training.
I learned that it takes strength, coordination, and confidence to lift 300 pounds over your
head.
[rock music]
Guessing these guys would be up for any challenge, I proposed a test.
Of their dexterity.
[violin music]
Scott: this is going to work on my grip strength, for sure. it will help your hook grip.
Scott: watch, watch right here. Boom! Straight under the bar.
Out and around, you're set. Ready to start all over.
Shaheen: alright, I got it.
Shaheen: boom!
Scott: got it, got it.
Shaheen: wrap it, wrap it, wrap it.
Scott: no, no.
Shaheen: around the back, like this?
Scott: pull it down. constant tension. stay on you heels.
Shaheen: heels!
Peter: hey guys, we gotta go.
Rob: let me finish my row first.
Staci: I discovered that weight lifters can make good knitters!
After a five minute knitting lesson with me, they were knitting row after row on their
own.
many thanks to scott, shaheen, and rob for being such good sports.
[music]
staci: oh, your tension is like angry, tight.
[the men laugh]
rob: my hand started to hurt! [laughs]
