Hey Groovers!
BassSlut here with Rave Trooper to talk to you about the DO's and the Don'ts of The Groove
music Festival 2013! I would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has
supported us thus far, without you we would be nothing and The Groove would still just
be a dream! Now lets get down to business, Here's a few
things you should know! "Whats a tier?"
last year there seemed to be some confusion when it came to the word "tier" for those
that don't know, what that means is that there is a set amount of tickets for each tier at
a certain price, when that tier runs out the next tier that is released to ticket sellers
is alittle more expensive. This doesn't mean you get more then the people who paid less
so don't wait to buy your ticket because you think if you spend more you get more. You
get just as mush awesomeness as everyone else. Unless you buy VIP tickets... then you get
alittle more awesomeness! That being said Tier 3 tickets at $70 are selling fast! So
don't procrastinate! "Are there any additional costs?"
there is free parking but if you would like to be closer to the stages and camp with your
vehicle then it is going to cost you abit extra for parking and camping. Also everyone
is required to pay a $10 environmental clean up fee at the gate upon entry , This goes
to land maintinace and any additional clean up! But please be respectful of the land and
leave no trace, pack out what you pack in please! Oh yes and please do hold onto your
butts, there will be labeled ash trays throughout the event site.
yes this is a 16+ event but because of certain safety concerns it is now mandatory for anybody
under the age of 19 to be accompanied by a chaperone at all times. You must be within
250ft of your chaperones for the entire festival. If you are found without your chaperone you
will be taken to the lost and found and be forced to stay there till you have been found.
If this happens more then once you will be asked to leave the property.
"What steps have we taken to ensure your safety?" We will be having Okanagan Priority One Trauma
on-site to provide any first aid service needed! To ensure maximum safety we will also be having
Central Okanagan Protective Services providing security for the weekend.
"Is there anything that cannot be brought to the event?"
There are some very obvious and some not so obvious things that are on the no fly list.
If you are found with any of these item they will be taken away and you maybe asked to
leave depending on the item. So please...
No Alcohol or drug No ATV's/Dirt Bikes
No Balloons or whip cream crackers or canister No Charcoal or Wood Fires(Propane cooking
devices only) No Confetti
No Feather Boa's No Fireworks
No Generators(unless your a vendor, or part of the stages team and or construction team)
No Glass(of any kind) No Lazers(of any kind)
No Oil Lanterns No Pets(of any kind)
No Weapons of any kind So please keep this in mind.
"Are there any areas we aren't allowed to be?"
There will be some areas that are off limit these areas will be taped off, if you are
caught beyond these points you we will be given one warning and if you are seen there
again you will be asked to leave the property. Also backstage is off limits to anyone who
is not an artist staff or VIP same rules apply in these areas.
" Mother nature only knows so be prepared for
anything!! Bring your rain jackets, rubber boots, umbrellas, sweaters, sweat pants, sun
glasses, shorts, t-shirts, sandals and anything else you can think of! Oh and toothpick umbrellas...
