Today's Tekzilla Daily is brought to you by Go Daddy. Welcome to Tekzilla Daily. I'm Veronica
Belmont. Firefox lets you add your favorite search engines to its address bar to make
searching easy, but today I have a completely new way of searching that might just blow
your mind. It's an add-on called Drag and Drop Zones, available at addons.mozilla.org.
Once installed, just select a word or phrase on any web page and drag that text. As soon
as you do, a transparent grid will appear. Just drop your text into the box for your
desire search engine and it launches a new tab with those search results. If you open
the options, you can choose the location within the grid for each search engine, set the color,
grid size, and more.
As far as I can tell, the only way to add a new search engine is to add it to your Firefox
address bar. And they do provide a toolbar button so you can easily disable the feature
in case you want to drag and drop for other reasons. So if you want a new way of thinking
about those searches, try Drag and Drop Zones today.
