One piece of advice I'd offer anyone graduating next year is that your university degree does
not define who you are. A company is more than what they pay you, so it is important
to look at other things that a company can offer. Take every experience as a learning
experience. There are so many opportunities out there so once you get your foot through
the door make sure you take advantage of them. Never assume what you're doing today is not
going to benefit you sometime in the future. Your brand is very important because it's
about how you present yourself, it's about who you are and it's about what is important
to you. Don't compare yourself to others, focus on what you're passionate about, because
passionate people produce. To be excited for all the possibilities that are out there for
your career. You're just starting, they can take you anywhere. The best piece of advice
I've been given is that people do business with people, not companies. Get involved,
get involved with absolutely anything, say 'yes' to any opportunity that you're presented
with. To keep a broad view of where you see your career going. Focus on the outcome. The
journey is important. The best advice someone has given me is to say yes to all opportunities.
It's the opportunities that you don't plan or expect that you end up learning the most
from. And be true to yourself.
