in 2006 when we were recording a series
it was pretty fun. And there was a scene in which Mazu
the Baishatun Mazu travels in spring to go on his pilgrimage
so the director, actors, and me
before recording we needed to go down to Taizhong to find sponsors
and one our way there we passed through Baishatun, so we told Mazu
what our script was like, etc. and our director asked for her favour
and Mazu agreed to us filming
and then we asked the second question which was to do with financing
would our sponsorship search go smoothly?
we prayed with moon stones for a long time! Almost half an hour without success
I finally got three "divine answers"
it said that everything would go smoothly
and sure enough it went very smoothly
we went down and very quickly found a sponsor
and we have a meeting where they immediately pledged 2 million
also, in the process of filming... I think that, for me
it's kind of like... a very big... like seeing a miracle
so that experience for me was very profound
because we were in the middle of recording
at some points I would stop and think: "Wow! It seems as if Mazu is directing"
because some things we filmed turned out to be richer than in our imagination
there was one point in the middle where we had been following along for 3 days
and all of our team was already preparing to return to Taipei
at the time of the last cut, the Sun was going down behind the mountains
there was still a bit of light left
but that scene was hard because the lead had to look at his grandfather
kneeling in front of Mazu's palanquin
and he had to cry
but we had filmed it many times
at first we had acted the crying
but no matter how he cried it seemed fake and wasn't really believable
we were very close to giving up
but we discussed with the director and said: "let's do it one more time"
the camera was there and the lead actor was over here
and becausethe background was the round palanquin
so you had to walk around it
so we could only see the lead actor we didn't know what was happening behind
and then... the palanquin suddenly passed to and fro in front of the lead
and just stopped here for a long time. Everybody just looked around
all of this was captured on the scene
and it turned out that all the people were kneeling in front of it
they were kneeling there
and the palanquin...
because the Baishatun Mazu feels her own way
so she decides if she'll pass over her followers's heads or not
and just as she was passing by
the male lead really started to cry
So we,
saw this brilliant image in the camera, of course
but it was only when we all, including the director and everyone
when afterwards we looked at the images of all the staff kneeling
that everyone there just started to cry, on and on
It was every one of us, everyone
When I have a problem
I'll think about it
Even if there is nothing I can do I won't ask for help from God
I won't call for God or any particular deity
I won't go to a temple either
Rather I'll ask the heavens to help me
the heavens for me is all the gods
many gods
praying
or other forms of worship
it's a lot like talking with one's self
I don't think that this is incorrect
but I think if we take...
Christians take dialogue with oneself as dialogue with god
this is quite different from simply conversing with oneself however
because Christians create an image of god to talk with, distinct from the self
and explain their logic to it
that's different from talking to one's self
In terms of how I communicate with Jesus or God
The first way that I learned at church was prayer
or reading the bible
those are basic ways... reading the bible is one way communication
it is the words written down by God's apostles
So it's one-way
It's what God wants to tell you
So it's one-way
That's one form of communication
the second way is prayer
Prayer is two-way
You ask something of God with words
and he answers you in a variety of ways
so it is two-way
I still engage in both of these
I read the bible and I also pray
There is also another method of communication
which is to respect and follow what you've learned
You have to respect and learn the things you learn
and put it into practice in your life
It's like a... like a game if you like
Today he gives you a rule
and if you play following the rules you'll be fine
You have to believe what you believe at all times
it might seem a little shocking
how can things happen together so coincidentally
and that's another form of communication
maybe it's...
From my own point of view
I feel that God has made a plan for me
He plans for me, and I feel it
That's also communication
