These are the wildlife imprisoned in humans' houses
Crammed in small cages
Fed with inappropriate food
without company
This is the forest, the natural habitat of wildlife
Dozens, even thousands kilometers away from the cages in luxurious houses
Here, they live happily with their family and friends
Free to do anything
Not imprisoned
Their happiness is taken away by humans (hunters)
Orangutan mothers are killed to get the babies
Wildlife poaching is cruel and inhumane
Some animals are slaughtered to get their meat
Like this poor and endangered sea turtle
Likewise, this monkey is burned while it is still alive
The wild caught animals from the forests are illegally traded in the bird (pet) markets
Besides lack of law enforcement
the illegal trade is also caused by the demand of some people who keep buying wildlife for hobbies
The forestry police with the help of wildlife and forest protection organization like ProFauna
Works to stop and reduce the trade by enforcing the wildlife law
The confiscated wildlife, especially the Javan langurs, are then kept in a rehabilitation center
a temporary shelter for the confiscated langurs before being released back to the wild.
In this rehabilitation center, langurs are taken care of passionately.
This is a tough job since most confiscated langurs are in bad condition because of bad handling by former owners and traders
The langurs are gradually introduced with their natural diets
When they are healthy and wild again, they are ready to be released back and live freely in the wild.
The release sites are located in some nature reserves
protected from illegal poachers and loggers.
These protection efforts however will be in vain
if people keep buying wildlife illegally
and keep destroying forests as the natural habitats of wildlife
For these reasons, ProFauna has been actively campaigning for forest and wildlife protection
ProFauna's campaigns are always attractive
ProFauna's campaigns feature famous celebrities who support the organization voluntarily
ProFauna has established an education center for the young generation to learn about nature and wildlife conservation
It is called Petungsewu Wildlife Education Center (P-WEC)
In P-WEC, students learn about conservation through games, adventures, and other outdoor fun activities.
P-WEC runs mobile library
an education program to facilitate villagers near forests to learn about conservation.
If we, humans, were kept in a beautiful cage with a lot of food without freedom
would we let ourselves be imprisoned?
Many endangered wildlife have lost their homes due to deforestation
They are further threatened by extinction due to poaching for illegal trade
Deforestation causes landslide, flood, and other disasters for humans.
We can help saving wildlife from extinction by stop buying wildlife.
Saving the forests will also help wildlife and humans themselves.
Keep wildlife in the wild
Not in cages in our houses.
Help save the forests for better life
If we don't help and act, we will face wildlife extinction, more and more extinction
