That’s the eternal dilemma between materialism and idealism
In Physics, at the quantum level, it has been shown that measurements alter reality
what we’re measuring, and out of purely physical reasons
not philosophical ones
so there’s still no reason to say we’ve solved that problem
An electron may be there or may just be generated by the interaction with our measurement
That’s the eternal question
is the moon there if we’re not looking at it?
We can’t be sure
But the answer is yes, it’s there
But, at the quantum level, at the atomic scale, things start to get complex
So Physics cannot elucidate between Platonism and materialism
whether there’s an external reality or not
That belongs to the realm of each person’s philosophical attitude
