Sharing your data connection with friends and family is easy
using your Samsung Galaxy S III from Verizon Wireless.
Watch this video to learn how.
First, tap Menu from any home screen.
Next tap Settings.
Under Wireless and network, select "More settings".
Then tap Mobile Hotspot.
To turn on your hotspot, simply slide the switch to the ON position.
Note that to use this feature you must be disconnected from Wi-Fi.
Read the disclaimer, and tap OK to begin.
Tap Configure.
Here you can rename your hotspot and set its privacy settings.
To add a password to your hotspot
tap the drop-down box under Security and select WPA2 PSK.
Then enter a password of at least 8 characters.
Tap Save when you are finished.
To turn off your hotspot, simply slide the switch back to the left.
Tap Back to return to settings.
Another way to share your device's data connection
is with Mobile Broadband Connect.
Tap Tethering.
To use Mobile Broadband Connect
you will need the USB cable that came with your phone.
Connect the small end of the cable to your phone
and the large end to your computer.
Once connected, you can turn Mobile Broadband Connect on.
You'll see an icon in the notifications bar telling you that tethering is on.
On your computer, you should now be able
to connect to the internet via your phone.
To turn tethering off
simply tap the box next to Mobile Broadband Connect once again.
