>> T-10, 9, 8, 7, 6, green board, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Engine start and liftoff of the Delta-2
rocket carrying the Spirit from Earth to planet Mars!
>> Load relief kick rate is in, vehicle's responding. Vehicle is recovering very nicely
from the liftoff transience.
>> Look normal for this phase of the flight. We're approaching Mach 1.
>> And there we go. We've exceeded the supersonic speed, and the engine positions look good.
>> We're now passing an altitude of four nautical miles, with a downrange distance of fifteen
nautical miles and a velocity of just coming up on 2,000 miles per hour. Passing T+60 seconds,
our solid motors have burned out. Looking like a nice symetrical burn there on all six
ground start motors. Jettisoned all six solids, and we've just ignited the other three. All
three air starts are up and running.
>> We have burnout of the three air start motors, we're coming up on T+130 seconds.
And there's jettison, solid motor jettison. All three have jettisoned. Nice, clean signature
there.
