If your video views are falling on your YouTube channel, stay tuned, watch this video and
I'll show you some of the reasons why.
Hi there, David Walsh here from DavidWalshOnLine.com
and in this edition of 'Ask David' I'm gonna show you why you could be losing your video
views on your YouTube videos. I got a question from The Man Bubble recently
and he asks 'Hey man, I upload singing covers on YouTube and recently my views have declined.
Any help getting these views back up? I don't understand why they're dropping off.'
Now, there are a number of reasons why this could be happening, so, I'm gonna go through
the top three, so that you can see why your video views are falling.
Now, the first reason is your content. Now, it doesn't make a difference whether you're
doing singing cover videos or video game videos. Your content is what people are coming to
your channel to look for. And in your case, The Bubble Man, you're doing
singing covers, so if you change the type of songs that you're covering, that could
have a lot to do with it. The mistake people make is to mix in different types of videos
in with their channels. So, they could have a prank video on one day
and then a singing cover on the next. And people are coming to your site, they get confused,
so they don't come back and therefore your video views go down.
Now, I'm not saying this is that's what you're doing, The Bubble Man, but this could be one
of the reasons that people are not coming back. Your content has slightly changed and
the audience just doesn't like it. The second reason is your uploading frequency.
If you've been uploading videos once a week and then you go to once a month, obviously,
the people who are watching your videos aren't gonna come back as regularly as they used
to. So, if you've reduced the number of videos
that you're uploading on a regular basis, then you're not going to get the same amount
of views as you used to before. Upload your videos the same as you used to and then see
how that works out for you. The third most common reason for this happening
is that you've change the date that you upload your content. If you are keeping the same
frequency, ie something like once a week but you change your day, then that can have an
effect on when your viewers are actually watching your content.
If your subscribers are used to you uploading on a Tuesday, but you change to a Saturday
or a Sunday, then, that can definitely affect when they're going to view your content. So,
switch it back to the day you had before and see how that goes for you.
Or if you can't do that, then definitely let them know, in a video, that you're changing
your upload day to whatever day you want it to be.
So, there you go. Those are the three top reasons why your video views may be dropping
on your YouTube channel. If this is an issue with you, definitely put
these to work for you and let me know how you're getting on with them in the comments
below. I'd love to hear how you're getting on with them.
And as always, if you have a question about this or anything else on YouTube, stick it
in the comments below and I'll do what I can to help you get that question answered. And
you never know, it could be your question being answered on another edition of 'Ask
