I'm Bryan Twyman, and I'm a systems administrator at Xactware.
I've been working on cars since I was a young kid, and my dad used to have me help him change
oil on cars.
From that it's branched into working on Jeeps and going off-roading,
and just getting out into nature.
I love that you can get out, get up into the hills.
No one is around. You can go camping, you can go exploring.
There's also the challenge. You go somewhere you've never been before. You don't know what
you're going to run into, so you got to be prepared for it.
And there's obstacles along the way that you've got to find out how to get over.
And I just love the the constant change, the challenge the beauty. It just makes going off road great.
[Announcer] Alright, there's Bryan Twyman going through obstacle number one right now.
I got to tell ya, that's a good looking I think rig he's got there.
[Brian] We just finished on course number eight. It's called Stairway to Heaven because
it goes really high. And, we actually out of the three buggies that have competed so
far, we took first place so far on there. It was a challenge, but we got through it
pretty good. And I'm feeling pretty good as long as the rest of the day goes like that.
I definitely love Jeeping, and off-roading in general. I love working on cars, those
two things go hand-in-hand in this sport.
You're constantly solving problems, you're thinking of new ways to get through certain
things, to fix things you've never fixed before on you're vehicle. Those trouble shooting
skills translate very well, I believe, into IT where you're meeting new issues that you
haven't seen before. You have to think outside the box to resolve them.
Being a systems administrator I manage the back-end systems that most people don't realize
are there. When you use your e-mail, when you use your phone, there's a system on the
back-end that manages that. And it's our job to make sure that you don't realize it's there,
and that if functions correctly.
So, working at Xactware, you go into work and its like you're working with friends and
family. Everyone genuinely cares who you are and how you're doing. You all show up, participate,
and get your tasks done for the day. Go home and you have a great sense of accomplishment,
and you feel good about it too, because you hung out with your friends and got the job done.
I really like that feeling of everybody at your work does genuinely care who you are
and your contribution to the community there.
