Good evening.
In my country if your relative is sick, or if you're sick yourselve,...
...you need to know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows a doctor or knows a nurse.
And then you get care.
I'm sitting in Germany and patients come and I don't need to know where they come from.
I just need their name and date of birth.
Sometimes you don't even know their names.
And you treat them equally.
That is the kind of standard care I want.
That is the reason why the idea of a hospital came up.
That is the reason why the idea of a hospital came up.
Then I didn't think it was going to spread and become like wildfire, to see an evening like this.
Where I will see faces, people who have never been to Africa...
...and people who have never known, how health care is in Ghana...
...get involved, spend their time, money and energy, to make an evening like this come true.
And I want to end by saying; There is a day coming where all the money you had, will not matter.
All the people you knew, will not matter.
It won't matter the kind of titles you had. Whether you are a urologist or somebody who sweeps the floor.
What will matter, will be the number of lives you have touched.
What will matter will be the people who have smiled, because you have been there.
Good evening.
