Many of our young black boys
just don't have anybody. This is a fatherless generation of young men and young women.
73 percent of households today
are led by females. --Nothing can replace the time
that you pour into your child's life. --They need us and they need somebody to guide them along.
So many times we talk about what we don't have,
but the ability to connect
and to inspire
is something that we already have the ability to do.
So we have to keep bringing in men, as many as we can,
just to play that ball.
It's critical. --So responsible fatherhood is really giving up yourself, and that time.
That's really the value of mentorship. It's a life-long
effort to really give somebody the tools to just say, you know what,
I'm just destined to make it out of here man.
Fatherhood is the first natural mentoring relationship.
And our young black males need you.
This is national mentoring month.
Invest in your community by mentoring a young black male today.
You can make a world of difference.
