Maori actor Temuera Morrison stars in a new film
based around cannibalism.
The topic may be distasteful to some,
but Morrison says it's all for a laugh.
It's a new role for this Maori actor.
This is different for me, because
I haven't done any comedy before.
But it's another film for those who are into this genre.
Temuera Morrison is in Auckland promoting his new film, Fresh Meat,
which is based on a Maori family of cannibals.
Maori writer Briar-Grace Smith, who wrote the movie,
says she knows some people will judge its themes.
Morrison hopes the film will help to lift his career.
He's still travelling to the US and meeting with film producers,
but he says he's enjoying being home and working on NZ-themed films.
The movie will be in NZ cinemas on Thursday.
