CHRIS: Hello everyone! Thanks for pressing and play!
In this episode of Excalibur CCG TV, we're gonna take a look at some Iron Man books that
you should be reading now that you've seen Iron Man 3. Stay tuned!
CHRIS: Hey guys, gals, everybody that loves Iron
Man! Randy and I are here again to take a look at some Iron Man collections that are
here in the shop, right now, that you should check out if you love Iron Man, especially,
if you are all hyped up after seeing Iron Man 3 and all of the glory that was involved
and that. So we're gonna talk about some older stuff, classic stuff, and some of the newer
stuff that you should be checking out if you aren't already. Randy, what have we got here?
RANDY: Most importantly and first and foremost, the
classic story of the "Armor Wars" is going to be one of those that we have available
that you should check out. The "Armor Wars" is predominantly featured in the movie there
with lots of different pieces of armor. It's gonna be a little bit different story but
it's still one of the classic, probably most classic, of the Iron Man stories.
CHRIS: Exactly! Exactly! Moving on.
RANDY: Also, we have, it was dealt with what in Iron
Man 2, the "Demon in a Bottle" which is Tony Stark having to face his problem with alcoholism.
Again, one of the topmost stories that you need to take a look at and enjoy when it comes
to Iron Man.
CHRIS: Yeah! That's a classic! That is totally a
classic. What else do we got here?
RANDY: We have "The Many Armors of Iron Man" which
is going to be one of those that features tons of armors. Again, if you like the Iron
Man 3 where it's jumping all the different outfits, you wanna gonna pick up the book
like this one.
CHRIS: Exactly! Exactly!
RANDY: We have, as well, a "War Machine" book. This
is the first story that has James Rhodes jumping into the War Machine armor. We saw him a little
bit in the first film and also as (Iron Man in the second film and Iron Patriot in the
third film) and this right here is going to be kind of his origin story as War Machine.
CHRIS: Exactly! This will props up to Don Cheadle,
Rhodey as War Machine/Iron Patriot. What's this one right here?
RANDY: We have "Doomquest," this is by Michelinie
and John Romita Jr., who both brought you the "Armor Wars." This will gonna be a story
of Iron Man and Doom as you can easily see from the cover.
CHRIS: Awesome! Uhh! Tell me something about this?
RANDY: Right here, this is the storyline that Matt
Fraction did in Invincible Iron Man. It actually is pretty much a story that goes from the
very first issue all the way to the very end that covers something like 40 or 50 issues
of the book. But the "Five Nightmares" is going to be his story (I'm sorry, I'm gonna...).
CHRIS: Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca started
a new Iron Man series just a few years ago. This is the first collection of that, where
Iron Man has to deal with Iron Man 2.0 whether he wanted it to or not. Fantastic artwork
by Salvador Larroca and Matt Fraction did a long run on Iron Man as Randy mentioned
a moment ago and he set a lot of things in motion even some of the things, some of those
things, are even hinted at in Iron Man 3.
RANDY: Right! And if you are familiar with Obadiah
Stane which was Jeff Bridges character from the first film, you gonna see the Stane name
in this book here and that's one of those, again, as a tie-in as well as his storyline
which is one of the biggest storylines and best storylines with "The Most Wanted." In
this, this is where you gonna see Pepper Potts in the black sports bra that you see that
they brought into the film there but it's Iron Man where he can't trust his armor, he
can't trust anyone, he's on the run, and outlaw. It is probably the best story in this story
or in the run of Invincible Iron Man.
CHRIS: Awesome! And to wrap this video up, in case
you haven't read or did not know that it existed, huge portions of Iron Man 3 are taken from
the "Extremis" storyline that Warren Ellis and Adi Granov did years ago where he introduced,
Warren Ellis introduced the "Extremis" into the Iron Man mythos and cultivated for the
movie.
RANDY: It's been out on print, it's back in print,
and it's gonna be on the comic shop soon. Along with the stories like "The Mask in the
Iron Man" and "Haunted" which are other stories they brought some of the information or the
ideas to put in the Iron Man 3. So, all of those will gonna be coming in the shop soon.
CHRIS: Soon! That's it guys. I mean, there's tons
of stuff Iron Man-related that you can pick up and enjoy today. So thanks for pressing
