After causing a stir with his unusual hat at the Grammy Awards, Pharrell's outfit choice
has hit the headlines once again. This time at the Oscars, after the singer - who is performing
at the ceremony - arrived on the red carpet wearing a pair of shorts with his tuxedo.
And I see you're without your hat. Why did you not decide to wear the hat? You made it so popular.
I didn't know I was supposed to.
I think Vivienne Westwood deserves the praise and the accolades for the hat. I mean, she
created it 30 years ago. I just wore it.
You couldn't ask for more. You know, it was my favourite record because it really had
nothing to do with me. The song is just about being happy and to be able to come out and
perform on the Oscars is quite an opportunity, and I really appreciate the shock to do it.
We've gotten some really nice feedback on the song. I mean, I'd say that people have
been very kind, and it's incredible the way that they've just turned it into a movement.
Because it never needed to be this way, but the fact that it is like I'm ever so grateful.
I always say it because I know that this doesn't happen all the time.
