Thanks for tuning into Sat Nav Warehouse on YouTube.
As you can see here we have the Snooper Truckmate Pro Sound DB8500 and if you've never used
this before you'll see it's pretty similar to most navigation devices, whether you have
a Garmin or a TomTom in that you simply have to touch the screen anywhere in the middle
and it takes you into the main menu.
you can see here that you have three different categories. You have a navigate menu, a list
of favourites and a configuration menu which contains all your settings.
Now we're going to go through all thee individually. You'll see here on the navigate screen you've
got find by city, you have find by postcode and you have a one touch home and office which
is quite easy to set up.
You also have something called multirouting which enables you to set up to 16 different
postcodes or destinations in any order you choose and you can visit them in that order
or you can reroute in the most efficient manner and Snooper would do that for you.
You've got a list of favourites here which you can populate. If we go into the next page
you have a recent destination page, a points of interest list, find by the nearest point
of interest and so on. As you can see there you can also search by coordinates, you can
find by map and the next page there's something called Your Route which lets you literally
set up a route taking you down the roads that you want to go down. You can literally plan
your own routes if you like.
You have your TMC settings here for your traffic. With the DB8500 you do get free lifetime traffic
updates.
Press right again and you're back into the first page.
Onto my favourites it's quite a short menu here but you'll see here you can have a list
of favourites. This is a new device to it's empty at the moment.
Recent destinations will be displayed in a list here and you've got your one touch home
and office where you can change those.
Your configuration menu allows you to set up your vehicle dimensions and we'll show
you how to do that in more detail later on but as you can see there these are all the
details you can enter.
You've got the brightness control, volume control and everything you need to customise
the device to your preferences. You can choose the camera alerts as to whether they're on
or off. When yo download the camera database you can actually avoid certain countries.
We know it's illegal in France and Belgium to have speed camera alerts. If you'd rather
not have those on you can alter that no problem at all.
You can also set a pin lock on there as well. So if you don't want anyone else to get into
your sat nav and find all your favourites you can set up a four digit pin number no
problem at all. You have a version number here so when it comes to updating your maps
or your software you can quite easily see what version you are on and update if necessary.
One press here takes you back to the start and a top right click takes you back to the
main screen. We'll go through all those points individually in some our other videos. In
the meantime I hope that's given you a good insight.
