Hi my name is Ryan Pierce. I'm eleven years old.
I like to do math and art and I'm here today to be baptized.
My name is Kaylie and my favorite color is blue.
My name is Devon and I'm in 8th grade and I'm 13 years old.
My name is Hannah and I'm nine and I like to play softball.
I'm Hayden. I'm 12 years old and I go to middle school and my favorite sport is baseball.
My name is Ellis…the third, I'm originally from Belleville, IL. I love music. I love anything technical and I love to be creative.
Well, I started church since forever because my dad's a pastor.
When I was younger in Children's Church, my teacher asked you if you had asked Jesus into your heart, and if you hadn't, to raise your hand.
And I raised my hand and I asked Jesus into heart…into my heart that day.
And ever since then, I've wanted to follow Christ.
It was at nighttime, and I was in bed. And, um, I just felt like I needed to.
I was saved when I was 4. But, like, I just didn't feel like that was significant,
because I was four and I don't think I really understood what it was.
And then like the past year or so, I've been falling away from God.
And then we went out to a youth rally out in Effingham.
At that youth rally, I just reaccepted God. And I started getting back to Christ.
My teacher was praying when we were in church.
And I asked God into my heart and I actually started talking to myself about what I needed to pray for.
The first time I ever really remember being involved in Christ was when I went up for an altar call in 2008 at my aunt and uncle's church.
That's probably the first time I really asked Jesus into my heart that I really remember.
I was born into a barrage of obstacles and difficulties.
Especially with…especially when it comes to disabilities. I have several all rolled into one.
And between that and experiencing a broken home, I thought that I was the least important person to God. And I didn't think God cared about me.
But as I got older, the more I ran from him, the more he ran to me. And no matter what mistakes I made, to matter how hard my life may have seemed.
He always showed that he was there. And I realized that he is very much in love with me.
Baptism is saying that I belong to God and I'm giving myself up. It's saying that you're going to follow God for the rest of your life.
Because they want Jesus in their life and they want to do things Jesus wants them to do.
I want to be baptized because I'm saved in Christ and I'm being reborn and I think it's a significant thing to have done to show that I'm a Christian.
I'm being baptized because it means you have been renewed and you've asked God into your heart and you want your sins to go away.
I just really want to feel like I'm getting closer to Christ. I've alway close to him. I just want to feel closer and get more involved.
The reason why i'm getting baptized today is because I have entered into a new season of my life.
And I have entered into a whole new season with God.
And I want to affirm that and I want the world to see it.
I want the world to see how in love I am with Christ and what I'm willing to do to prove it.
