Modernity
Seeking to understand the most demanding markets
Coasul, Cooperativa Agroindustrial opened its poultry
slaughterhouse, at the end of 2010, in the town of São João
in the state of Paraná, Brazil, where Levida brand
products are produced and packaged, using the latest
equipment and a structure assembled with what is the
most modern in the segment.
Because of these investments
the Coasul poultry slaughterhouse is able to
comply with legislation from all over the world.
Receiving the poultry
Respecting the sanitary standards and production quality
is one of COASUL’s commitments. Therefore, when the
product arrives at the slaughterhouse, all documentation
that accompanies it is checked.
Animal welfare
COASUL respects the animal’s welfare. Therefore, it
equips its barn with fans and nebulizers activated by
sensor depending on the shed’s internal temperature
and humidity.
Hanging and bleeding area
With controlled lighting, to guarantee the least amount of
stress for the birds, the hanging and bleeding area strictly
follows the standards established for the animal’s welfare.
The slaughter area also has a bleeding Chapel to comply
with countries that have religious requirements.
Processing
After being slaughtered, the poultry goes for scalding, de-feathering
and evisceration. To standardize the operation
and increase the quality of the final product, the process of
evisceration and separation of giblets is automated.
In the carcass-chilling section, the company has a rotating
sieve that removes excess water, ensuring production quality.
Cutting room
In the cutting room, the automated cutting lines and fillet
cutter make standardized cuts, in addition to helping
maintain product quality.
The company also has automatic classifying scales
developed specially to standardize the weights of the parts of the whole mix.
Packaging
The packaging process for Levida products is stringent.
The packages used in the manufacturing process are
acquired from third party companies that are market
leaders. Liberation for use only occurs after a Quality
Guarantee analysis. The packages are stored in an
appropriate location until their use.
In the secondary packaging sector, the products arrive in
the cutting room for opening on an iso-panel, on
separated conveyor belts, which guarantees that there is
no mixture of products.
Freezing
The products, once in cardboard boxes, are frozen in an
automatic tunnel and come out with temperatures that
comply with the standards of their intended markets.
100% of what is produced goes through a metal detector,
thereby guaranteeing a quality product that is free of
metal fragments.
Stocking
Coasul’s stocking chamber uses a dynamic stocking
system where the pallets are moved in accordance with
input and output flow in the stock, guaranteeing that
the first products that are stocked are the first to leave.
At the time of departure, the trucks are only released after
after hygienic inspection. The entire process is accompanied by
by Coasul’s quality Guarantee.
Sanitation
Correct sanitation of the equipment and environments is
a priority of COASUL. To guarantee the recommended
dilution of chemical products, Coasul has a detergent
center interconnected to the entire plant.
Commitment to quality
Coasul takes pleasure in the satisfaction of its customers,
its employees and respect for the environment.
During the hiring process, all employees go through a
careful clinical and laboratory evaluation. Only the
candidates that are able to handle food products are hired.
The evaluations are repeated periodically with those hired,
guaranteeing quality of life for the employees and quality
of the products.
In the support areas, Coasul has two restaurants
in its plant, one that is intended for employees who use white
uniforms, and the other for employees who use civilian
clothing and colored uniforms.
Coasul also has two Laundry areas that are physically
separated, which guarantees the correct sanitation of
white and colored uniforms.
During lunch and dinner breaks, the employees remain
in the slaughterhouse’s internal areas, at the locations,
which are appropriate and separated according to the
work sector.
Coasul’s wastewater treatment system follows the strictest
international quality standards, and sends all waste
generated by the industry to the correct destination.
Finally, the COASUL slaughterhouse’s entire operational
process carefully complies with international standards for
slaughter and production, offering products of
quality and provenance.
