Water has always been on my mind as a child in a rural village. All your mother would
tell you is to "go and fetch water".
So I was perhaps thinking: How can I get water, closer
to home so that I can be able to get time to do some other things. Or even as I am going
to play. So I didn't have chance to play football. I'd probably a good footballer but I didn't
do that because I had to go collect water.
There are quite a number of young boys out there and girls
who like to have water close to home so that they can be able to run and do other things.
One of the perhaps most innovative projects we're doing is communal rainwater harvesting.
Collecting water from rooftops at a communal level and storing it in an underground tank.
It keeps me moving to know that someone is supporting me, that someone is contributing
to the people they don't even know. It keeps me moving.
