Tropical Storm Isaac has already taken at least three lives. And now there\'92s concern
for the safety of those attending the Republican National Convention. {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK

舲 \b \'93Republican officials in Florida and
in Boston have agreed that the convention should be essentially postponed on Monday
and compressed into a three-day affair beginning on Tuesday. The Romney campaign and the RNC
says as long as folks are kept safe, they\'92ll go forward on Tuesday.\'94
\b0 \uc0舲 舲 This means the roll call vote of delegates officially nominating
Mitt Romney as the Republican party\'92s presidential nominee will be pushed back. But {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK
"http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-08-25/republican-convention-start-delayed-because-of-hurricane-threat"}}{\fldrslt \cf3 \ul \ulc3 Businessweek reports}} Romney's
campaign doesn\'92t seem worried about the time crunch\'92s effect on the campaign.\uc0舲
舲 \b [A senior strategist says] \'93We will
absolutely be able to get our message out. We think that we can absolutely do it in three
days.\'94 \b0 \uc0舲 舲 {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK
"http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/08/steele-to-critics-get-over-it-133212.html"}}{\fldrslt \cf3 \ul \ulc3 According to a blogger for
Politico}} the site of the convention was chosen under the direction of former RNC chairman
Michael Steele. And now he\'92s receiving criticism for the decision.\uc0舲 舲
But this isn\'92t the first time the former chairman has been condemned for his actions.
The blogger says Steele is frequently targeted for his poor management of the RNC.舲
舲 And while Steele says he agreed to pick Tampa as the host city, the decision
came down to a vote by the full committee. He told Politico he isn\'92t going to take
the blame for this one.舲 舲 \b "They just need to stop that s---, ok,
get over it...\'94 \b0 \uc0舲 舲 An NBC reporter says
50,000 people are headed to Tampa for the convention. And even if the town does dodge
Isaac, the Tampa Bay Times Forum could still be affected. But the Republican campaign knew
this could be the case.舲 舲 \b \'93Party leaders knew this was the height
of hurricane season, but they went forward with Tampa as the host city anyway in part
because the area has not taken a direct hurricane hit for more than nine decades.\'94
\b0 \uc0舲 舲 And some are using the postponement as a way to bash the GOP all
together. The Daily Edge tweeted...舲 舲
\b \'93#RNC insists convention won't be canceled: 'This is a great opportunity to reinforce
GOP image as a party that rigidly adheres to bad ideas'\'94
\b0 \uc0舲 舲 But the show must go on. {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/08/25/2968319/isaac-forces-gop-to-postpone-mondays.html"}}{\fldrslt

plans, and the party will continue as planned for Sunday.\uc0舲 \
