I like the new Duty to God program, because you're able
to create your own plans instead of
being told to do something.
You get to decide what you do, and to learn about whatever it
is you want to do and act on that.
I did a sprint distance triathlon with my really good
friend, Dayton, to fulfill my duty to God.
That's what we do to fulfill our duty to God is the service
for others.
Because it makes you feel good, and makes that person
feel even better.
Dayton and I are really good friends, and it's not just
because of this triathlon.
It's because Dayton's just an amazing person, and he does
the sacrament just like everybody else does.
Each Deacon has had a chance to do second the
sacrament with him.
They get assigned a route, and they put the sacrament tray on
top of this little holder that is attached to the back of his
wheelchair.
And they do the sacrament route with Dayton, pushing him
in his wheelchair.
Dayton makes me a better person because he kind of
shows me that you can do hard things, no matter what your
challenges are, what the circumstances are.
I feel blessed to be able to hold the priesthood.
I feel that Heavenly father and my Bishop, they have a lot
of trust in me that I can do these kinds of things, and act
on every worthy thought.
