How GVSU students spent their vacation with us. Playing cards with their new friends at
PEER, basking in the sun, expanding their horzons, learning new things.
Student: Just because somebody has a disability doesn?t mean that they can?t do something.
As long as you change the environment you don?t necessarily have to change the person.
Student: All the kids and adults that we went to work with, and going snowshoeing with them
and getting the chance to talk to them? Student: My favorite thing was playing with
the kids who are Up to 3 at the CPD. They helped out at Common Ground, too.
And they are preparing dinner and getting everything set. We?re planning on having about
40 people show up, so it?s a pretty big deal, and they?re helping us out with that.
They provided some backup percussion at the Developmental Skills Laboratory.
Group: We will, we will, rock you! And they painted over there, too.
Jeff Sheen: You can?t help but have fun when there?s that much enthusiasm and energy in
a group. They did get the chance to be Aggies for a week. They were just a great, fantastic
group of young adults, out trying to make a difference in the world and spending their
energy and time helping others, so we were very impressed to have them come out. Just
a lot of fun. Thanks, Grand Valley State University students!
We love that you spend your alternative spring break with us.
