We're dealing with two very big, very different, also, issues
One is the technical side and the other is the editorial, organizational side
These sides have to walk hand-in-hand and they have to understand each other
in order to develop things the way we want it.
I suppose the most difficult and also the most important thing is
clarify the meaning of the change and the goal of the change
to the people working there - the journalists - but also the managing level
The most important thing is the changes,
We cannot go on that way, with the traditional methods
IMPS is giving us a new method, a new way.
So that everybody sees where we are going, why we are doing this,
and also that the managing level speaks the same language
So they don't have any arguments with each other.
It takes a lot of management and leadership efforts to
start this long travel of media integration. It's not that easy
it takes a lot of preparation.
But if you are well prepared, if you know the challenges ahead,
and if you have some tools, leadership tools
You can do it, and that was really
one of the very inspirational moments here at Radio Bremen, that we could
see how far they have come by, I would say, good leadership, good leadership skills
I will tell my bosses that the new idea is to have only one boss, and not ten!
