Now I'm going to show you how you screw on the head onto the arm. So you get to your
gig, you set up your turntables, you want to put your needles on last because your needles
are the most valuable part of the turntable. If your needles get damaged, your record's
going to skip. So you need to make sure you have new needles regularly and they're not
going to be skipping, and you transport them well. I use one of these nice cases, drop
it off, holds up to four needles, well up to four heads actually, which hold the cartridge,
hold the needle. And so I slip one of them out, go over. When you're putting your head
on your arm, you want to make sure that either your mixer isn't even on or at least it's
shifted so that you're not going to hear it, because when you put it in you will hear a
noise if your turntables are plugged in and everything. So I will show you that again,
you just screw on the head. You really want to make sure you screw it on tight, if it's
not tight enough you won't get a signal from your needle to your turntable or to the mixer
and you won't hear anything, I've run into trouble with that in my early days. So screw
it in as tight as you can. And that's how you get yourself ready to do your gig.
