Hello, my name is Diane Thériault.
I’m 67 years old,
I’ll soon be turning 68, on April 21.
I also wanted to present my dog, Patch. He’s 4.
I started to lose my vision around age 35, 40.
I also was operated for hearing implants,
because before I couldn’t hear anything at all.
I communicated using sign language.
My name is Sandra Aziz, I’m 21 years old,
and I am a volunteer at the YMCA.
I help Diane with her workouts.
Helping someone with their workouts might not sound like much,
but it really helps.
Otherwise Diane would not have access to fitness training
because she needs someone’s assistance.
I have a 33-year-old son
who suggested I start exercising because it would be good for me.
I said I was too old to do that
and that it wasn’t a place for me.
He said,
“Mom, there’s no age limit for it. Everyone does it.”
Well alright, then.
It’s really fun
because you see the difference you’re making in someone’s life.
It helps them a lot and brings them lots of joy.
Also, you get a lot out of it
because it makes you happy to know what you’re doing is helping someone.
I’m happy to have her with me because she encourages me.
I’m really happy to see how patient she is with me.
It’s fun because we work well together.
I don’t regret it.
