Suddenly at Asus booth we met this wonderful person who gave us this interesting device
made by E Ink. This is just a prototype of the device based on Android with a 3.4-inch display.
I'm not sure, it's an approximate number.
The definition is 800 x 480, I think, it's the standard display that E Ink makes.
Look, there is a scroll. It works not as fast as I wish to. This device can work for two weeks.
It looks like this, this is just a prototype. The gadget is based on Android 2.3, but it's not a problem to install here Android 4 when it comes to a serial production.
Everything is quite simple here: messages, contacts, reader, there are several preloaded books but in some Asian language. Let's try to read the Bible in Japanese.
Also there is a dialer and different applications.
Not all buttons work well. There are also settings. The device is not very responsive but it's an interesting idea.
The gadget needs lightening but I think it will be built in.
The back panel is made of soft touch plastics. The on/off button is on the top. On the bottom side there is a microUSB port and a loudspeaker.
On the right side there is a slot for SIM card (as far as I understand, it's a usual SIM card) and a volume key.
This man says it weighs only 80 grams, it's a very light device. Feel the difference.
It's a very nice thing meaning that something begins to change in the industry. All the devices we saw at MWC 2013 are cool and powerful
but this device is something new and interesting. We'll see what Yota will show us.
I hope Yota and E Ink will succeed and we'll have E Ink devices, colored, more powerful and capable of working for two weeks long.
