As simple as it sounds the address of your website can make or break you. Stay
tuned and I'll tell you how.
Today let's talk about how to choose a name for your personal training business
website. This is also called a domain name.
There are four things you need to remember when coming up with a domain
name. Number one: stick to dot com only names. Most people will not remember
anything other than a website ending in dot com. Do not purchase a name that ends in
dot net, dot biz, or anything else.
Number two: Do not use a name that is too long. I know that can be difficult in
our industry especially if you want to include the words personal trainer or
personal training, but do your best to choose a name that will be easy for
your clients to remember and to also type into the search bar.
Number three: Skip names that contain hyphens. How would you verbally tell someone
if your web address looked like this?
Number four: Nothing too obscure. It may work for some companies with big pockets
for branding and marketing, but chances are it will not work for you.
So those are the four things you need to remember when choosing a domain name. I
suggest you start by creating a list of five or six potential names keeping in
mind that your first or second choice may not be available.
Go ahead and start brainstorming website names and in my next video I'm going to
show you how to get your name registered. See you soon.
