welcome back everybody after visiting the cafe Ankh last time
we got a few new leads, and a new location: Pseudopolis yard.
We talked to Nobby, our old friend from the city watch
This is their new headquarters: they moved in
a little while ago after their old City Guard headquarters was destroyed by a
dragon that they were fending off. This is much nicer than their old place! It
was obtained through
some political connections by Captain Vimes. Even though he doesn't like
Lewton, he's a good guy in the novels so
see how it plays out here.
this is Nobby, of course - the desk sergeant
This is a - s'is a real swanky place. Kind of a police station
Uh huh.
*laughs*
This is very consistent with the books. Nobby is a uh, a petty criminal.
*laughs*
The voice actor does incredulity SO well.
Well, with all that hard work, and those mysterious murders, he should have
plenty of clues for us! So, let's go through our notebook.
Huh. Fair enough - he's probably keeping a low profile.
*laughs* I really like that joke
Hm. Well, nothing about them. We know he doesn't know anything about
Carlotta. I know because I asked him earlier, off-LP.
What we really want to ask him about though are the
mysterious murders, so let's find those in here.
Yeah, here we go!
Yeaaah we may need to give it a little time
before anything... materializes with this. I'm not sure what Nobby's investigative
technique is, but it probably just involves a lot of wandering around and sleeping
Well, that's pretty much it.
...Well!
That, uh, that was everything. You were absolutely no help Nobby.
Well, let's head back and collect our thoughts
and see if we can - woah!
Who.. is this?
That's... a big axe!
THAT is a tortured metaphor.
Uh huh.
*laughs*
Whump.
*laughs*
I really like how unflappable Lewton is
He, uh, he goes to banter
immediately without bothering to be intimidated or treat people on their own terms.
I really appreciate that. It might seem like I warp sometimes. If you
double-click, it
takes you right to wherever you would have gone
which is really nice. That saves a lot of time.
Just a hunch.
He can't be thinking he's invulnerable anymore - we tossed him right out!
Well: notice we've crossed off "inquisitive stranger", because now that we
know that the
inquisitive stranger was Al-Khali, we don't need to ask about him anymore.
sharp-eyed viewers may also notice that the
sailor from before is gone.
And people with good memory might remember that we picked up a crowbar.
And that they're loading cargo onto the Milka as fast as they can.
The solution suggests itself! We need to get on board, no one will let us...
heh!
I guess they're just loading rats onto the ship?
Mmhm. That's ominous!
What's that?
Now, that wasn't too hard to see but some the stuff you have to get later in
the game...
...is PRETTY pixel hunty.
That's one of the few criticisms I have - we'll talk about that when we get there
kind of an, uh, ominous environment here
this is just a lair.
I could certainly imagine
The crew and the captain having a bad trip if
something spooky was living on board. Hard to say what exactly
it doesn't really tell you - doesn't look like anything in particular
could be a vampire, werewolf, or something else.
whatever it was it seems pretty nasty
you can see mister Srcoop right over there.
we - I don't think we can get his attention. Which is good
he, uh, probably wouldn't be happy with us being on here.
but we can check in the cabin here
Now this is one of those places where I really had to stop
There's something to do in here I can remember that much
but couldn't quite think what (you saw it flas there,
for a second),
there's actually a bunk and a, uh
bedpost that you're supposed to take a look at.
and it's a little hard to find the bed post - obviously there are different
bunkers
also there is a clue you can only get by
"picking up" the bunk. There isn't any
examine or search command you have to you pretend that you picking up stuff in
order to search it
which you just can't see the message no I don't pick up this heavy thing but
sometimes
doesn't seem too significant, but who knows.
he knows what he's doing I'm sure.
armed with the knowledge that there's something else in here...
interesting...
So there's some kind of wild animal in here.
that is an ugly man!
So there's some sort of wild animal on there.
And...
there are scratches in the
cabin so whatever it was, it was even getting to where the
passengers were. However, we didn't hear of anybody
being murdered on the way over so presumably the creature wasn't
deadly, or it was under the control of someone on the ship... Something was going on.
so many questions! Maybe being on the ship gave Nobby time to investigate
come up with a few more answers.
cuz we're really into at a stone wall otherwise
As it turns out...
I wanted to see if he had a different talking dialogue - he didn't as it turns out.
Not QUITE true
But possibly true as of this -
Oh, Nobby
you are horrible. Possibly true as
of this game.
I have you
Oh, of COURSE
riiight.
well well
So it's the female.
Well, that's... oh!
So, this might SEEM like a useless diversion, but consider
How did Malachite find our name? How did he know who we were?
Well, we've got two routes to choose from - we can interview our crew member at the Cafe Ankh,
Or check into Therma at the Octarine Parrot. Choose which one you want
And I'll see you guys next time!
Thanks
