With Instore you can track the redemptions of daily deals from sites like Groupon or
LivingSocial.
To start first create the discount on your office backend by clicking the settings gear
located at the bottom left of the page.
Click on discounts.
Then, click Add Discount.
In this case, I am creating a Groupon deal for my store. The Groupon is worth $10, so
that's what I'm inputting for the Cash Discount value.
Once I save my deal, I can go to my iPad, open Instore, and update the menu so the discount
can be used at the store.
I'll go to the settings and tap "Update tablet data"
Here, I am taking the order from a customer at my store. You'll see me add the Groupon
deal in just a moment.
I'll tap "Add Discount" to see my available discounts. I'll apply the Groupon deal to
the entire order.
My customer can pay for the balance of the order if there is any.
Once the order has been paid, it will be viewable on my office backend.
When I go back to my office backend, the order appears in my analytics. This gives me order-specific information.
To view the total redemptions of this Groupon deal and their value, first select the time
range for the data. Then, scroll down to the discount analytic.
Here I can see all my discounts and their usage. In this case, for the time range I
selected, the Groupon deal was used 24 times for a total of $240 dollars. I can use this
information when recording Groupon deal redemptions on my Groupon merchant account.
