Hi, I’m Tony from Ai Squared technical support.
Today's ZoomText tip is Save and Restore View commands.
What I will do is demonstrate this in an excel spreadsheet where I will save a view,
and this way I can quickly jump to it when I need to.
Ok, I have a spreadsheet here about a loan
and in this spreadsheet I’d like to always know what the total cost is,
whenever I make a change
in the numbers. For example if I change
the interest rate,
I don’t want to fish around the screen to find the total amount of the loan. So what I would do
is save this specific area; the view.
So I will bring the view to it and I’ll press
Alt + Number pad backslash.
ZoomText will say, “View Saved.”
That means this location now is saved so when i’m somewhere else in the spreadsheet and I go and change, lets say…
my percentage rate,
and I make it eight point five for example
and Enter.
Now I need to know what happened to the total loan. Instead of fishing around the screen,
I can simply press ALT + asterisk
on the number pad.
And there we are, it jumped right
to that location for me,
without having to scroll around.
Now,
there are other additional scrolling keys
that you can use. For example, you can press the ALT + Page Up.
That moves the view to the the top
ALT + Page Down
will take you to the bottom.
ALT + Home will go to the left side of the screen,
actually this will take us bottom left
and then ALT + End
will take us all the way to the right side.
ALT + Page Up from there will take us top Right.
ALT + Home will take us to the top left.
You can also press the ALT and arrow keys and that will gradually take you where you want to go.
And that concludes today’s ZoomText tip!
