Atlanta locksmith, Kevin Wilson has been a locksmith in Atlanta for over 34 years
I am Kevin Wilson a certified master locksmith by the Associated Locksmiths of America. I
have been serving the metro-Atlanta area for over 30 years. What makes me different from
other locksmiths in Atlanta is my training, experience, and ethics. I offer all the services
that you would normally expect a locksmith to offer except for making keys to automobiles.
That is the one thing I don’t currently do, but I offer all the residential security
services for physical security installing locks, repairing doors, doing the doorframe
reinforcing. I also do commercial work on all types of commercial doors, replacement
of doors, panic hardware, master keying, lever sets, digital entry, access control, all of
the things that you would expect a locksmith to do. I have all the experience in the commercial
field as well. Most people don’t think about their security unless it’s pointed out to
them, but a deadbolt and a chain are not enough anymore. The chain won’t do anything except
make a little bit of noise. Doors break easily when kicked. It doesn't even take a very strong
kick in most cases. The type of wood and the type of construction for most of the new houses
and even older houses even 20 and 30 years old nowadays is just not enough to withstand
a kick. Most of the time the burglar will be in and out of your house in five minutes
or less, and it will take the police department at least 10-20 minutes to respond, so let’s
keep them out of the house in the first place because your alarm system only detects after
they have entered the house. What I do to protect the door and the frame from being
kicked in and compromised during a kick in attack is just the reinforcing of the entire
frame, preferably 60-inch plate on the doorframe, and then reinforce the door also with wraparound
steel door shields or some type of edge protector to protect the door from splitting out through
the center, and then to tie in the hinges with long screws and/or hinge reinforcements
on the hinge side to prevent the doorframe from splitting right down through the center
line of all the hinges which is a very common occurrence when they are kicked. What I enjoy
most about my business is helping people out in their emergency situations whether they
are locked out of their house or the car or whether they have had a break-in to their
house, I like to help them out so that it creates less stress in their life.
