Hello and welcome to this VJX16-4 tutorial dedicated to saving configurations and copying and pasting effects.
So in this tutorial we are going to work with this area here with the Preset button.
But before everything else I am going to create a setting.
For example, I want to add colour to this camera with my RGB settings
and then, if I need to save this setting I am going to press the Preset button,
it will ask me which pad I want to save it to, and I will be able to choose among the 16 buttons on my multi-task pad.
It couldn’t be easier, press Preset and one pad. It has saved my setup.
So now I can press Reset – RGB to remove my colour setting
and then if I want to bring it back, I will press RGB (because it is a colour setting I want to recall) and the pad on which the colour settings have been saved.
Here you can save an effect but I can also save all the effects of a video track.
If I reuse my example with my colour setup,
I can add a Brightness, contrast and saturation setting
then use the SCROLL function to scale and create a PiP,
and even crop the image.
Now I want to save all the settings applied to my video track:
the RGB setup, the BCS setup, the SCROLL and the CROP for the PiP.
This time I’m going to press Preset and choose one of the pad to save my settings on,
but before pressing on the pad, I am going to press the Select button on the track.
Why? Simply because if I press Preset and the panel,
it will save the last active function: in this instance our last edit was on the CROP function, so we would save the CROP settings.
But now I’m going to press Preset, Select and then the saving pad of my choice.
If I now want to remove all these settings by pressing on Reset and the track’s Select button, I can recall the parameters by default.
So now, at any point all I need to do is press the Select button on the track
and the pad where I’ve saved my settings to simultaneously recall the colour, scale and all the other parameters at once.
After having seen how to save a parameter or several parameters at the same time,
let’s take another look at this function because it allows you to copy and paste the effects from one track to another.
For example, I am going to create an effect on my camera,
for example to create a sepia effect, like here.
Then I will save this setup like we have just seen by pressing Preset then a pad.
And now I can select another camera and recall the settings I just created on my other track.
It’s the same for a 3rd camera.
This enables me to have my sepia setting on my 3 different cameras without having to edit each camera one by one.
I’ve copied and pasted.
What is Important to know is that all of these settings remain active in the mixer
even after you have turned it off.
If you want, you can remove all the personal parameters and come back to default settings:
by opening the menu, you choose Preset, then confirm that you want to remove your settings by pressing Enter,
and confirm a second time to avoid any errors.
Now your personal settings have been removed.
Finally, just a couple of words about the Snapshot Manager software.
This software does more than just save a track’s settings:
it enables you to save all the settings on 4 video tracks as well as the mixer’s other parameters, with just one button.
It also enables you to apply a title and a description when you save.
You can see a presentation of this software in another tutorial.
Thank you for following this one.
