Adding image styles and effects can customize and enhance the way your image captures look.
Open an image or text capture in the Editor. If you’ve just installed the program and
don’t have your own yet, click one of the examples in the tray to use.
Click on the Image tab to find all of the effects you can apply to your captures.
The Image Style section is what we’ll focus on in this video.
A couple things you need to know before we get started.
Clicking on an effect instantly applies it to your entire capture.
Don’t like it and want to remove it? Just press Ctrl+Z or the undo button.
Edges are great for showing images taken out of context, or that part of an image is not
shown.
Adjust the properties to create the effect that works for you.
For instance apply the edge to one or more sides.
When you have your effect the way you want it, you can save it for re-use.
Make sure the new style is applied to your image then click the “add to quick styles”
button, located at the bottom of the options window.
This saves the style to your style gallery, and allows you to apply it to other images
easily. It’s ok to experiment with different effects;
we encourage you to do just that. Take some practice captures, and apply things
like edge effects, shadows, perspectives and borders.
See what you like! Borders, for example, are great to separate
your image from surrounding text or images on a web page or in a document.
There are a lot of things in the Effects bag of tricks that can make your captures look
amazing.
Use the shadow effect if you’d like to add some depth or dimension to your image.
Don’t forget to adjust the properties to customize the look and feel.
There are a few other effects you can use, like page curl and perspective, that can really
make your images standout.
I hope this video will help you add a little flare to your captures.
