I have just finished the 13th minute of Sungazing and
I would like to report my experience and what effect it has.
Information about its origin and how it's done are on
www.sungazing.de
So I won't go into detail on this matter.
The idea is to air a progress report from time to time.
I began four or five months ago. My tactics are to wake up
at sunrise and see if the sun is visible.
If not, there is another chance at sunset.
With this strategy you increase your chance to sungaze
and to add up the 10 seconds to progress quickly;
so it won't last two or three years to finish the process.
I am still bare-footed, since I've just finished
my 13th minute out of 44.
The strongest sensations occurred at the beginning,
at the first two minutes.
There was a rising heat and a lot of twinkling;
tears in the eyes, which has decreased.
I'm not as sensible to sunlight now as I used to be,
even in everyday life. I am not as thirsty.
I feel like going outside more often than before.
My mood lightens after Sungazing.
When I feel tired or my mood is down,
I do Sungazing and it improves instantly.
What could also happen is that I prepare dinner,
stop this to do Sungazing, and afterwards I am not hungry
anymore and have to wrap it up for the next day.
But there were also turbulent times when I could eat like a horse.
What I experienced is that it makes a difference
if I walk bare-footed or not, not only while practising Sungazing.
When I didn't do it I got cold feet and a headache.
Being bare-footed this never occurs.
From meditation I know the parts of my body that are tight,
like the breast or the stomach.
And Sungazing has a positive effect on these parts too.
I feel a soothing prickling and the blockades are being erased.
It is similar to what happens when practising Vipassana or Kunlun.
I can recommend it to everybody because it enhances the overall mood.
I still got ups and downs, but they are on a different level.
When I've got a down now it is a tiredness.
In general it feels very good, and it is said that
the first 13 to 15 minutes work like a mood elevator.
Fears disappear, even to the extent that you aren't scared of death.
I am more light hearted, in a much better mood,
have less fear and a distinct perception.
But not in a sense of a forced concentration on something,
it is rather a natural state of being.
I am curious how things will evolve.
At 5:40 minute I did let control my eyesight;
the macula in particular. This is the part which
is most affected by sunlight. Everything was perfect and
I will repeat this examination after I mastered the 15th minute.
It is my aim to let control my eyes after every ten-minute step.
Since the Germans are very sceptical when it comes to
such obscure techniques, I am especially interested to have
a medical record which proves the harmlessness.
But it is for my own good too, since I love my eyes and
want to be sure they won't be hurt.
But I never experienced any problems while doing it.
I neither saw black spots
nor did I have red-green colour problems or flickering.
And though I'm staring at the sun for thirteen minutes now,
I have to blink less than I used to do
at the two- or three-minute stage. Furthermore it seems
that the eyes are wetting themselves. If you blink in natural reflex,
the sun appears bright and glary. I wondered if this has to be,
because you have to start all over again to relax, to look
at the sun without blinking. But when I blink fast and
intentionally to wet the eyes, the sun appears as bright
and manageable as before and not too bright.
Try it, perhaps it is a help for you too.
It is also much easier when I try to relax,
to feel my body and to free my mind. Combined with a
smile and a straight back and neck a lot dissolves.
Enjoy; and I'll be glad if others would tell us about
their experience on youtube. As far as I know there are no
reports about Sungazing from Germany until now.
