there are a lot of children who don't have any fingers
This can be the result of an accident or the Amnniotic Band Syndrome
We want to help them, so they can draw, play and develop
just as any other child
we want to do this with 3D printing
This will allow us to build
low cost plastic components, per unit
The hardest part is already done A man in South Afrika
has designed a prosthetic hand for children with no fingers, built on a 3D printer
We want to build this prosthetic hand in Chile
to help the children who really need it
and how do we fund this on the long term?
since the idea is starting with Chile, but moving forward to Latin America
simple: 3D printing for the masses
what is our idea?
This is Felipe.
he's been thinking on building a part he needs
for an engineering project
but this is very expensive unfortunately, building a single part
is too expensive for Felipe
3D printing comes to the rescue
It will allow Felipe to upload his digital design
and receiving the physical part he needs, for a fraction of the cost
Once Felipe has received his plastic component
his original design is showcased for sale on our portal
This is Fernando.
He's looking for a part exactly like Felipe's.
The smart thing is, now Fernando can buy a copy of the part
without uploading it, from our 3D portal.
Since this is Felipe's design, he will also receive a royalty
from what Fernando has paid
and the profits will allow us
to maintain the system and build hands for children who need them
