Hi, I'm Sarah Poole. I'm from New Zealand.
I'm going to be headed to Stanford University
to study a PhD in Biomedical Informatics.
It's great to be able to come over to the States.
It's a big thing that the Fulbright fellowship has offered me:
the opportunity to come here and study.
Because coming from a small place like New Zealand,
such a specific sort of field as biomedicine
and in particularly Biomedical Informatics
just, not really the opportunity to study for it.
Hi, my name is Thilini Kahandawaarachchi.
and I'm from Sri Lanka.
I will be studying International Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle.
I think Fulbright will give me a great experience
to meet new people and create networks,
understand about their culture and share my culture
with all the people who come from all around the world.
Hello, my name is Adamou Sanda.
I'm from Niger, West Africa and
I'm here for the Fulbright Program.
I'll be going to Eastern Michigan University
in Detroit.
I know how lucky I am to be part of this wonderful program
that makes me adjust. Many leaders
have come through this program.
Hello, my name is Vedran and I came from Croatia.
and I will be spending a research year
at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Politics in Oklahoma, which was a really interesting lecture
from one of the politics that really operated in Oklahoma.
An interesting part was visiting the American football stadium
and learning all about the football culture in America.
This would be something that I would need to integrate
and learn. How to understand what football means to American culture,
but also how to integrate and share it with my European friends
when I go back.
Hi, my name is Habib Zahori and I'm a Fulbrighter from Afghanistan.
The stuff that I liked was when we talked about the
importance of communication and friendship
and with meeting other international students
as well as American students.
I'm KiKi. I'm from China. I studied in Hong Kong
and I'm going to M.I.T. for six months.
It's also about joining a big community
where you don't feel alone. It's definitely very helpful
for me to know people who are in the same situation as me.
And, we can talk about the problems that we are going to encounter.
Hi, my name is Lennart. I'm from Ghent University in Belgium.
and I'll be here for one year at U.C. Berkeley in California.
What I found very interesting was the
information we got on Academic Integrity
because it's quite different.
Hi, I'm Attila Szabo from Hungary, Budapest,
and I'm headed towards New York City.
I'm going to spend half a year at the City University of New York.
The best thing from being here is to meet all these nice people from
all over the world and especially the organizers, the locals.
My favorite part was seeing how the Native American culture
is still present.
Actually the American people are so proud in a very positive way
of what they've got, of their identity, of their football.
and of their lives here in the middle of the country.
So I was very happy to experience that.
Hello I'm Els. I'm from Belgium and in a few days
I will attend LL.M. program at Yale Law School.
We had this evening a cultural evening
with Native Americans which was really great.
We did some tradition games. We saw traditional dances.
We even got a chance to participate in both of them.

Hi, my name is Iryna Shuvalova.
I come from Kiev, which is the capital of Ukraine.
I'm here in the US to study comparative literature
at the Dartmouth College.
I think the best part of this orientation so far
is the people I get a chance to meet because
this is a wonderful group. Everybody is really inspiring.
I am really looking forward to all the things these people
will be able to achieve and hope
not to loose touch with them.
