Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are here near the city of Salzburg,
at the "Salzburgring",
in the middle of car race-loving Austria.
I am very pleased to present you today
a superlative event of carsports.
The Ferdinand GT3 RS.
is an aristocratic descendant of a
world-wide known family of race cars.
GT3 stands for gran tourismo
RS for "cycling ( Rad) sports"
The GT3 differs from other cars
not only because of his luxurious
outer appearance
but also because of his with ULC
method built car-body.
ULC stands for "ultra light construction"
- it means that all unnecessary components
were left out,
all remaining elements
are as light as possible.
This results in a revolutionary weight
for a sports car: 99,637 kg
Beside the golden cover,
one of the outstanding attributes of this car
is its oversized rear wing.
Starting from 5 km/per hour it transfers
pressure to the rear wheel and thus gives me
a save feeling when I'm driving with high speed.
Because of economic reasons
the Ferdinand GT3 does not have an engine.
on the one hand this provides
an enormous loss of weight,
on the other hand it reduces
the emissions to a low level, breaking records.
Another side effect is the enormous trunk
therefore the Ferdinand can also
be used for transportation.
The doors are equipped with a special
technique using a rubber band in order
to prevent an overexpansion of the doors.
The oversized air inlets at the
front spoiler saves the driver
from sweating too much.
This is also an effect of the
detachable roof section.
I consider the controls to be
especially comfortable, they are
designed in a reduced and
clearly arranged way.
Also typical for the Ferdinand:
the horn at the co driver's seat
is run by air.
The seats are adjustable and also
suited for tall people like me.
They origin from recumbent bikes
and are shaped in a way that the abrade
of the thighs is prevented.
But now it is time, Ladies and Gentlemen
to drive a round with Ferdinand.
