Chris: Hello and welcome to the The Fort Report
I'm Chris Connolly
Ehleshea: and I'm Ehlesha Woodruff
Chris: Looking for a fun way to learn more about yourself and
the choices you make?
Well, what’s more fun than a lot of random singing and dancing?
Ehleshea: Sounds like a “Glee” plot to me
Chris: Well, I am kind of a “Gleek” …
Ehleshea: Fort Worth has its own special version of Glee
Kids Who Care
They’re an international musical theatre company, and each summer,
Kids Who Care hosts kids from around the globe.
The program provides life lessons while bringing a diverse group
together as an ensemble.
This summer, Kids Who Care is presenting
an original musical called “Choices”
July 28-31 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
The production examines the consequences of our decisions.
From a mundane dinner selection to the words used to express ourselves,
choices define us. Check out show times and ticket prices at www.kidswhocare.org
Chris: So, I understand you have an "in" with Kids Who Care?
Ehleshea: I'm sorry. They've seen your "Work" and they're not interested.
Chris: For a detailed schedule, ble ka bla!

If you’re looking for something to do with a little faster pace,
then head north to Texas Motor Speedway for this summer’s season
of the Friday Night Drags.
The drag-racing series was created to curtail illegal street racing in Fort
Worth
by providing a safer alternative at the speedway.
Ehleshea: Texas Motor Speedway converts its pit road into a drag strip
for six straight Fridays with champions crowned in five different divisions
during the season finale on Aug. 12.
Chris: Vroom! Vroom!
Ehleshea: OK, to learn more about Friday Night Drags, check out
Texas Motor Speedway’s website.
Uh, Chris … is that a crash helmet?
Chris: Oh … I hope not …
Ehleshea: Don’t you just love standing in line?
Me neither.
That’s why it’s so cool that the new Southwest Municipal Court building
has a drive-thru window.
The new facility is at the former Southwest Bank building at the corner
of Southwest Loop 820 and Trail Lake Drive. It houses both a walk-in court
and an environmental court,
as well as the drive-thru payment window and cashier facilities
for court payments.
Chris: The building also has cashiers and a drop box for water bill payments,
as well as lots of free parking.
The facility’s hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Ehleshea: Wow, the drive-thru idea sounds great.
Chris: Oh yeah … you can pay for your tickets and get fries to go!
"Do you want fries with that deferred adjudication?"
Ehleshea: OK, there won't be fries.
If you say that, people will expect them and we'll get calls.
Chris: I can't get this off!
Pull harder!
AGH!
OW!
